JACK CHANDLER,
Jack Chandler is perhaps best known as an award-winning landscape architect
with a distinctive attitude and style. His landscapes often employ steel in
one form or another, a seldom-used material in garden settings. His interest
in steel in all its forms-from found objects to manufactured material-led
him to create the work presented on these pages. Jack is an avid traveler,
making annual excursions to find artistic inspiration in the deserts of
Utah, the coast of Mexico, and the sunny regions of Western Europe, most
recently the coast of Turkey.
After fourteen years in private practice in southern California and the Napa
Valley, Jack established Jack Chandler & Associates in 1976. A licensed
landscape architect in both California and Texas, Jack holds an Associate of
Arts degree from Orange Coast College, and a Bachelor of Arts in Landscape
Architecture from Cal Poly, Pomona.
In 2005 Jack merged his practice with that of his daughter, Jennifer,
forming Chandler & Chandler Landscape Architects in Napa, California.
